The Garner MDS-4 is designed to handle VHS and S-VHS and all formats of magnetic media up to 16 inches in diameter. It operates continuously in the low field strength setting, and intermittently in the high field setting. On the low power setting, which is continuous, the unit will provide complete erasure on VHS, Beta, and audio cassettes, as well as computer reel tape. In the high setting, this unit will erase media with up to 950 oersted, including formats such as 1 inch reels, U-matic, S-VHS, DAT, 3480 and 8mm. Not designed for LTO or DLT tapes.
